Why did you decide to sell?

We bought our home in Olalla when we retired. Then sold 14 years later when we decided to move back to the City of Seattle to be closer to our adult children and wanted to live in a walkable neighborhood with expanded restaurant and music scene and other cultural activities.

   

 

Why Dan Bennett?

We worked with multiple agents simultaneously because we were looking at a wide geographic area. Dan impressed us from the beginning with his communication skills, patience with our initial uncertainty about what we wanted to buy and where, and answered all our questions accurately and in all the detail we wanted. He had a lot of knowledge about all aspects of the process, and the local market.

What was most memorable about your experience? 

 In our most recent experience in 2018, our purchase became very complicated at the inspection, we walked away from the purchase, Dan had already sold our home by then, and we were suddenly faced with being “homeless”. Dan held everything together, we found another place we liked even better in less than a week, and against all odds, he got the second purchased deal closed the same day.

How did your agent prepare you to buy/and or sell your home? what stood out?

Before listing our home for sale, he did a walkthrough, made recommendations about things we should remove or put away, minor repairs we should make, cleaning we should do (like windows) and more. The place sold for more than we expected, so we knew we’d gotten great advice and suggestions!

 

Were there stressful moments or things you were concerned about in the process? How were they handled by your realtor?

Yes, many! Dan remained calm at all times, patient with our venting frustration and stress, handled all the problems that came up quickly and well and kept the deal together. We couldn’t have gotten through it without him!

What advice would you give to future sellers?

Don’t get sucked in by an agent who says he/she can sell your house for more than you could reasonably expect in the market. That’s a trick some agents use to get the listing, but they can’t sell it for what they promise. One of the things we love about working with Dan is the credibility of the “comps” he provides In helping establish a purchase offer price or a listing price. He’s thorough, knowledgeable and has such credibility!
